Tack Room’s farmhouse kitchen [below] with a local slate floor and worktops, beams and a stable door looking across the valley, is well equipped and has a double oven electric cooker, microwave and fridge/freezer. The antique church pew, farmhouse table and chairs are ideal for leisurely starts to the day and for candlelit dinners.

The sitting room [opposite] has beams, polished wooden floors and rug, windows on three sides, hundreds of books, a  colour TV - flatscreen with digital  'Freeview' channels, a  DVD player, a games box and comfortable seating. There is Broadband Internet access for your computer.

The elegant and cosy bathroom has a bath/shower, washbasin and toilet and leads off the sitting room.

Two very light and beautifully designed attic bedrooms have seasonal duvets and additional quilts [anti-allergy bedding]. One has an antique brass and iron bed and the other twin pine bedsteads.

Martingale has an open-plan sitting/dining room with the kitchen partially screened. It has a local polished slate floor with rug, beamed ceilings and lintels and deep-set windows. Curl up in a comfortable armchair, turn on the soft lighting and enjoy one of the many books or watch  colour TV - flatscreen with digital 'Freeview' channels & a  DVD player. There is Broadband Internet access for your computer.

The kitchen is well designed and has hand-made Italian tiled work surfaces. It is fully equipped with electric cooker, fridge, microwave, high quality pans/crockery and a rocking chair. There is shared use of a small freezer situated in the lobby outside.

The double bedroom is reached by a wide spiral iron staircase, which was handcrafted by a local blacksmith and has a window seat, beams and wooden floor with rugs. You can lie in bed and enjoy the view across the valley. It has seasonal duvets and an additional quilt [anti-allergy bedding]. The en-suite bathroom has a bath with a fitted shower, hand-made Italian tiles, a wooden floor with rug, washbasin and toilet.

Stable has an ‘L’ shaped living area with views over the valley. It is compact and cleverly designed so that the kitchen and dining area do not intrude on the comfortable sitting area [left]. The latter is set around a slate fireplace with a dog grate, which was uncovered during renovation [an attractive feature although it cannot be used as the chimney no longer exists]. It has a slate floor, beams, exposed lintels, books, paintings, colour TV - flatscreen with digital ' Freeview' channels and a DVD player. There is Broadband Internet access for your computer.

The kitchen is well designed and has hand-made Italian tiled work surfaces. It is fully equipped with electric cooker, fridge, microwave and high quality pans and crockery. There is shared use of a small freezer situated in an out-building.

A wide spiral iron staircase [which was crafted by a local blacksmith] leads into the bedroom [left], which has views over a raised pond and steep paddock – keep an eye open for visiting heron. The bedroom has an antique brass and iron double bed, which has seasonal duvets and an additional quilt [anti-allergy bedding]. The bedroom and en-suite shower room [inc. washbasin and toilet] have beams and a fitted carpet.


For the comfort of all of our guests [ present and future ] we operate a policy of no smoking inside the cottages.
